Many riders can get confused by CE ratings for armour. Here’s a breakdown:
Impact armour used in motorcycle garments must undergo specific tests to determine whether it is CE Level 1 or CE Level 2 certified.
 
CE Level 1 Armour: Has a maximum transmitted force threshold of 35 kN.
CE Level 2 Armour: Offers a higher level of protection, with a maximum transmitted force threshold of 20 kN or lower. This means CE Level 2 armour provides superior impact absorption and protection.
